This new web site I am building for Pastor Dave LeRoy I, am hopeing that more people will start looking at it so that everyone knows what is going on at our Church. The purpose is to let the youth of our Church know what events are up and coming. Also to advertise coming events for area residents so that we can have a better outcome for events. The audience for the web site is targetedfor the youth and for all of our members at our church and for the public.
The target audience is our Church family, youth and anyone else wanting to know who we are. The reason I am helping my Pastormake a new website is to help keep our information up to date. We know as we are building this site we have to understand that most of our church members are on dial up. We are also wanting to see our Church grow so to do that we have to put links into our site that will attract youth to want to check out what we are doing to help kids in our area. We plan on having a Calendar in our website so that people will know what is going on each day of the week. Also in case of bad weather we will be able to post online if we are going to be open or closed for Sunday service or midweek service. We are planning on having at least 5 different topics that will be in our navagation bar. One will be about the history of the Church, on for youth, one for the Womens ministery, mens ministery, related links to our head church and other topics of interest.On the page that consists of topics of interest will be for speical interest, public interest and a list of nonprofit organizations that people will be able to look up from our site.One thing I would like to do is have a flash video of our pastor so that people can hear him and know what he is like before they meet him. Also have it to where we can also put a short clip online of what goes on in our youth group as well. The average user for our site will be our congration of someone new to town who might be looking for a church to attend. We are planning on having pictures of all the groups at our church so that when they click on the topic they will have a better idea of what we are talking about.One way to attract users to come to our site is by word of mouth as well as putting it in the listing with our phone number in the phone book. Most of our users that go to our church are on dial-up. So anything that we plan on putting on our website will have to be small enough so that it will not take to long to load. I plan on having it to where anyone who visits our site can rate it and give us any feedback to see what we need to do to improve our site to make it better.
