Summer is quickly approaching! (If you live in Texas like me it has sort of felt like summer in the last few days already!). And most people recognize that as the time they want to lose weight, to look good on the beach and things of that nature. It’s natural to want to lose weight and look our best, so the question arises: which diet is right for me? There are a ton of different options with many promising huge results and massive success. A lot of them work for some people and don’t work as well for others, some of them are healthy and helpful whereas some of them are a bit riskier. You want the best of both: a good, healthy option and the ability to lose weight too. Hence why you should look into something called keto, or a ketogenic diet!
But why? Well because this diet plan is not only good at getting (and keeping) weight off but it’s also good for you too, so what’s not to like? Now that you’ve shown interest in this type of diet plan the game truly begins. You have to follow steps on this plan, as with any other diet plan, and we’ll be going into some of that right now. In no particular order let’s get started!
To start off, with you knowing this is something you’re wanting to pursue, you need to build your knowledge and more up. Get the proper foods and supplies you’ll need to get started and going. That may be obvious, but you want to be prepared and know what you’re needing to do to be successful. One thing you want to do is be accountable. Have a friend/family member to keep you on top of what you’re needing to do, and you need to try to hold yourself accountable as well.
Don’t cheat either! Cheating won’t help you lose the weight or build the muscle you’re wanting. It takes the body time to get the enzymes it needs to burn fat and not glucose, and can take 3 or 4 days to access the fat burning ketosis mode. Once you’ve gotten to ketosis mode it just takes a cheat here or there per day to stop the fat burning process and then you’re back at ground zero. So cheating really won’t be helpful to you, no matter which diet, but this one for sure.
And you want to keep in mind you need to have this major key: patience. If you aren’t willing to wait then you won’t see the results you want. And keep in mind you don’t need to weigh yourself every day. You can have a weight change ranging from 2 to 4 lbs every day because of things like water consumption and if you’re weighing yourself every day and not seeing much change or it’s worse then it can discourage you and that’s not a good thing to do to yourself.
And make sure you keep track of your progress as well! Whether electronically in a journal or in a written form, you want to keep track of your progress. As you see the improvements it’ll encourage you and you’ll be happier, which is great! Summer is approaching so you want to do all you can to lose weight and keep it off, and a keto diet can certainly contribute very much to that. Learn all you need to know, stick with it, and be patient!
